Live Webcast of Typoday 2014

Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) will have a Live Webcast of Typoday 2014 on 1st, 2nd March 2014 (Saturday and Sunday).

Those who are unable to make it for Typography Day 2014 can certainly join and view the same via the Live webcast. The live webcast is designed for a phone friendly access irrespective of their location. One can join via their ios or android phones!

The theme for this year’s event is ‘Typography and Culture’.

The event will feature a day of workshops on Typography and Calligraphy followed by two days of conference dedicated to ‘typography and Culture’. The international conference will be devoted to addressing issues faced by type designers, type users and type educators. The conference includes presentations by invited keynote speakers, eminent academicians, blind juried papers, industry professionals, research scholars and students. The event will also host an exhibition of selected posters and typographic works of students and faculty members from Design Institutes.

Keynote Speaker
  Prof. James Craig

Prof. James Craig, a well-known author of books on graphic design, was born in Montreal, Canada. He studied fine arts in Montreal and Paris before immigrating to the United States. He received his BFA from The Cooper Union and his MFA from Yale University. Now semi-retired, Mr. Craig was the Design Director for Watson-Guptill Publications and is a member of the New York Art Directors Club, Association Typographique Internationale (ATypI), Type Directors Club (TDC), Typophiles, and a past member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA). After thirty years he recently retired from teaching typography at The Cooper Union, but continues to lecture widely.
